Terms of service

These terms apply to the paid and free EU Verify API / MCP service operated by Antoine LE BORGNE, entrepreneur individuel, trading as Orvel, 10 rue Casabianca, 56600 Lanester, France (le.borgne.antoine.pro@gmail.com).

The service is sold to professionals (B2B). By subscribing you declare that you act for purposes of your trade.

Service

We relay and normalise checks against public European registers over REST (/v1) and MCP (/mcp), as described in the documentation. We do not store the identifiers you submit beyond the cache lifetimes stated on the Tools page.

Plans, quotas and prices: Pricing. Amounts are EUR, VAT not applicable (art. 293 B of the French CGI, franchise in base) unless we notify you that the franchise has ended.

Account and key

Checkout is handled by Stripe. After payment (including the EUR 0 Free plan) you receive an API key. That key is personal to the subscription. Sharing it across unrelated companies is abuse and may lead to immediate termination, with a pro-rata refund of the unused period.

A Factur-X API Pro or Scale key is accepted here as a bundle while both services are operated by us; the bundle is a commercial courtesy and can be withdrawn with one month's notice.

Only successful calls count toward the quota. A call that ends in upstream_unavailable is free. Over quota, the API returns HTTP 402 until you upgrade or the month resets (UTC).

Accuracy and what we do not warrant

The answers come from third-party registers. We warrant that we transmit your query faithfully and return what the register said, without altering the verdict. We do not warrant that a register is correct, complete, or up to date, and a valid result is not a statement about the solvency, identity or good faith of anyone.

In particular: a VIES valid answer is evidence that the number was registered at the moment of the check (use requester_vat to obtain the identifier the Commission issues for that purpose), not a guarantee that a tax authority will accept your zero-rating. A check_iban valid answer means the number is structurally correct, not that the account exists. A check_email valid answer means the domain accepts mail, not that the mailbox exists.

You remain responsible for the decisions you take on the basis of an answer, and for using the service in line with the registers' own terms of use.

Customer obligations

Do not use the service to break the law, to enumerate or bulk-harvest a register, to load-test without notice, or to resell raw access without a vendor agreement. We apply client-side rate limits to stay within the ceilings the registers publish; circumventing them is a breach of these terms.

Availability

The service runs on a single EU region (Railway, Amsterdam) and depends on registers we do not operate. No uptime SLA in v0.1, and no credit for a register's own downtime. Scheduled or emergency maintenance can occur without prior notice. Availability and incident history are public at status page.

Cancellation and refunds

Cancel, change plan or download invoices from the Stripe customer portal. Access continues until the end of the period already paid. Because the service is digital and supplied immediately, there is no 14-day withdrawal (consumer withdrawal does not apply to professional customers; art. L221-3 and L221-28 of the French consumer code).

Liability

Liability is limited to the amount paid for the last 12 months, except for death, bodily injury, or fraud. We are not liable for indirect loss, for a third-party register being wrong or unavailable, or for a decision you took on the basis of an answer.

Law

French law. Courts of Lorient / Rennes, unless a mandatory venue applies.
